Rob Fotheringham Interview
Rob Fotheringham is an independent researcher, YouTube channel operator & former LDS church employee of 9 years on the LDS gospel library, welfare projects, perpetual education fund and more. Rob is best known for his series of documentary videos that outline LDS subjects of interest, including polygamy, rejecting the fulness of the gospel, ethics of the perpetual education fund, Elijah’s alleged visit to the Kirtland temple, the pioneer handcart migration disasters and more.

- While employed for the church was there anything that you saw that made you question the church?
- Do you think the church will ever be more transparent/honest about issues with church history? Why or why not?
- What were the motivations behind 1. Researching church history and 2. Starting your youtube channel?
- What areas of our history are you interested in studying in the future and do you think you would ever do a study on Emma (and her relationship with the leadership)
- Have you been disciplined by the church because of the YouTube channel?

- How has your family and friends responded to your making of these videos?
- What made you decide to make them and was it a difficult decision?
- Were you much of a student of LDS history before you started to see things?
- How easy or difficult was it for you to find the sources you used early on in your research?
- What first made you start questioning if all was really well at LDS Inc? What were the first red flags you started seeing? Can you share some specific stories or examples?
- The higher ups like 70’s, do they see the cover-ups and problems? If so, why don’t they say anything?
Question for Rob and those in his camp. If you have arrived at what appears obvious, i.e. that Brigham introduced polygamy and 5 other belief that are now done away with, had it ever occurred to the possibility that the line of succession is else where in the Restoration? What about the claims of Joseph Smith III, or Grandville Hedrick to name just two? Thank you for consideration.
