I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day saints…But I am also a seeker of truth, no matter where it comes from?
(Doctrine and Covenants | Section 109:7)
And as all have not faith, seek ye diligently and teach one another words of wisdom; yea, seek ye out of the best books words of wisdom, seek learning even by study and also by faith.
I take this to be inspired books BUT what I have learned from the Lord HE gives and parameter and never hits the nail on the head UNLESS its for a specific reason…example W.O.W. D&C 89..It is so broad that it could many many different things? Yet we are asked [commanded] to ask God whether it is right or not, so we may not be lead astray?
Since the “opening” of the archives and history of the church, thus far, we have seen and learned things are not what the church leaders have been saying previously? I believe if the truth had been open, people would have accepted it more gladly.
My faith in Christ has not been shaken nor threatened and I truly believe this is the ONLY true church [compared to others] upon the face of the earth. BUT I am not naive enough to say, every drop from the lips of the Presidency or 12 are gospel as one made a mistake to announce it as? I believe in, Thus sayeth the Lord for it to become a gospel command.
History is skewed by time because time diminishes with every passing year and the memories go with it? Asking some one “exactly” what was said 20-30-40-50 or more is dubious….Yes, the “bible is exactly this” BUT they were under the inspiration of the Holy Ghost as they were the 12 in the N.T. not ordinary members. To me huge difference.
All I want and I believe everyone else wants is the truth NO MATTER what it is. And I believe if we get it, then we as a people can move on and get closer to Zion?
I do like what these men have done and documented, yes this sounds more plausible but yet I believe more truth will be revealed. …I keep an open mind.
